Instead of the usual beauty contests, where the owner of ideal proportions receives the crown, a competition was held in Belgium with a different focus. Here they were looking for the “most internally beautiful” woman in the country.

The main criteria In this competition were body positivity, spiritual beauty and self-acceptance.

60 participants aged 23 to 64 went through the qualifying rounds, where over nine months they learned to love themselves, take care of themselves and gain confidence.

“True beauty is not in the ideal body that society imposes on us, but in one that has lived its own story,” says Nathalie De Reuck, founder of the competition and non-profit organization Top Women.

She was a former model herself and knows how cruel and destructive this world can be to self-esteem. De Reuck also criticizes the influence of social media filters that make women feel ashamed of their appearance.

According to De Reuck, participation in the finals was not mandatory for program participants. The main criterion for victory was the attitude towards life, towards oneself and the desire for development.
