President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in a digital format, at which topical issues of the socio-economic development of the country were discussed.

Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova informed about legislative activities aimed at legal support for various spheres of public life, TDH reports.

In particular, it was reported on the preparation of draft legislative acts regulating the areas of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population, physical culture and sports, state scientific and technical policy, seed production and others. A bill on the cultural heritage of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi is also being developed.

Gulmanova spoke about measures to expand contacts with parliaments of various countries and cooperation with international organizations. Thus, during a meeting with a delegation led by the chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen interparliamentary friendship group, a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, the further development of bilateral cooperation was discussed. In addition, a video conference of members of the parliamentary friendship group between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Federal National Council of the UAE was held.

Deputies of the Mejlis participate in seminars on improving legislative activities held by international organizations together with specialized structures of Turkmenistan. They also take part in activities to explain to the population the importance of the reforms carried out under the leadership of the President and the laws adopted. Parliamentarians attend meetings and forums dedicated to Constitution and National Flag Day.

Summarizing the information, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to continue to adopt new legal acts and improve laws. He also noted the importance of further developing relations with authoritative international organizations and parliaments of foreign countries.
