Within the framework of the 16th Cooperation Forum “Central Asia – Republic of Korea”, the 5th meeting of the Business Council “Turkmenistan – Republic of Korea” and the 4th meeting of the Business Council “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” were held in Ashgabat, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The meeting participants emphasized the importance of intensifying economic ties between the countries. Ways to expand cooperation in a number of areas were considered, among which were named:
• energy;
• textile industry;
• healthcare;
• ecology;
• transport and communications;
• oil and gas industry;
• agriculture and water management;
• high tech;
• science and education;
• tourism.
Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of strengthening partnerships in these areas with the aim of comprehensively developing cooperation between countries. The Turkmen side showed interest in Korean knowledge-intensive high technologies in the context of the country’s efforts to digitalize the national economy.
