On the eve of the International Day of Older Persons, which is regularly celebrated on October 1, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the elders and all Turkmen people on this significant day.

As the President noted, this is a wonderful holiday that enriches universal human values and strengthens humanitarian relations, reported in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

“I am confident that this international holiday, emphasizing the dignity of our elders, the respectful attitude towards the older generation in the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state, will increase the spirit of respected elders, beloved mothers, all compatriots and will unite them even stronger, uniting them on the path to achieving great goals, in the name of the prosperity of our country”, - says the congratulatory Message.

Today, the older generation, uniting the past, present and future, educating young people and instilling in them the best character traits, inspiring them to achieve great goals and successes, is receiving high honors. At a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty held on the eve of the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the country's independence, the advice and proposals of the elders were heard. And on their basis, the most important decisions on the further development of our state were developed and adopted, the head of state noted.

Representatives of the older generation, who set an example in strengthening, raising youth in the spirit of high patriotism and humanism, were awarded the title “Honorary Elder” for special merits, and the Order of the “Women’s Soul” was also awarded to venerable mothers.

“Today our young people, relying in any important matter on the support of their elders, consulting with them, respecting their life and work experience, with their successes make a significant contribution to increasing the authority of our country. And the main thing for young people is the example of the older generation, who left an unfading mark on our great history and rich culture”, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, wishing all citizens of Turkmenistan good health, a happy and prosperous life.
