The Russian air carrier Aeroflot is launching a program to accrue bonus points (miles) for flight delays due to the fault of the airline, reports Vc.ru.
Miles will be credited to loyalty program members on Aeroflot and Rossiya flights.
The accrual of bonus points for flight delays will start on October 23, 2023. In the event of a flight delay due to the fault of the airline, loyalty program members will receive not only the monetary compensation required by law, but also compensation in miles.
The mileage program is valid for Aeroflot and Rossiya flights under the SU code.
If the flight is delayed by 2-4 hours, the passenger will be credited with 2 000 bonus miles, from 4 to 8 hours – 3 000, and more than 8 hours – 4 000 miles. To join the loyalty program and receive miles for delayed flights, all you need to do is register in the Aeroflot program.
It is also planned to join the low-cost airline Pobeda, a subsidiary of Aeroflot, to the program. Pobeda passengers will be able to buy tickets for bonus miles from 2024.
