Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, left on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the State News Agency reports

At the Ashgabat International Airport, the head of the supreme representative body of the people's power was escorted by officials, as well as a representative of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Turkmenistan, who noted that the UAE is interested in developing effective ties with neutral Turkmenistan and wished Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov success and fruitful meetings planned during the visit.

A few hours later, an airliner with the leader of the nation of Turkmenistan on board landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport, decorated with the National flags of the two countries.

In honor of the arrival of the distinguished guest, soldiers of the Guard of Honor were lined up along the carpet leading from the plane's ramp. According to the established good tradition, flowers were presented to the chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

At the airport, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Justice of the UAE Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi and other officials.

During abrief talk with the Minister of Justice, the head of the highest representative body of people’s power said Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to bring Turkmen-Emirati relations to a qualitatively new level.

Noting that the UAE is considered as a reliable and perspective partner of our country, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that during the meetings scheduled during the current visit, a wide range of the issues of cooperation which will give a strong impetus to the development of bilateral relations and bring them to a higher level that meets the today’s requirements will be discussed.

It is expected that within the framework of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to the UAE, documents on development of mutual cooperation will also be signed.

Earlier it was reported that Vice-Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov will take part in the World Government Summit, which will be held in Dubai (UAE) from February 13 to 15, 2023. It is expected that the summit will be attended by heads of Government of 20 states, more than 250 ministers and 10 thousand state persons, experts and other authoritative persons from around the world.
