Currently, credit organizations of Turkmenistan are actively introducing contactless Bank cards into circulation, the official website of the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan reports.
According to the information, contactless payments are based on RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) and NFC (Near Field Communication) technologies.
Another type of contactless technology is payments made via QR-code technology. In this case, payments are accepted by scanning a special QR code-a quick response code. QR code (Quick Response) is a payment infrastructure for mobile devices based on QR coding technologies using two-dimensional matrix codes and conventional linear barcodes.
These technologies are now applied to the cards of “Rysgal” and “Senagat” joint-stock commercial banks, as well as international Bank cards of the State Bank for foreign economic activity of Turkmenistan "Visa" and "MasterCard".
