The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan is strengthening security measures for employees of the consular Department.

"In accordance with the General regulations for all Russian consular offices, all visitors to the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat and the consular post in Turkmenbashi must carry a medical mask or a cotton gauze bandage. Reception of visitors without these means of protection will not be carried out," – said in the information published today on the website of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

The Russian diplomatic mission also informs that the consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan has temporarily suspended the acceptance of documents for registration and issuance of all visa categories to foreign citizens and stateless persons.

The Embassy of the Russian Federation is also working on the possibility of returning home its citizens temporarily located on the territory of Turkmenistan, in connection with the suspension of regular flights between the two countries from March 17, 2020.

It should be recalled that in Turkmenistan, under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in accordance with the recommendations of the world health organization and taking into account national legislation, necessary and timely steps are being taken to prevent the entry of dangerous infectious diseases into the country. As stated earlier at a briefing at the Ministry of foreign Affairs, no cases of disease or suspected coronavirus have been recorded in Turkmenistan.
