Yesterday, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan hosted a conference dedicated to the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the international significance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s initiative to declare 2028 the Year of International Law.

According to the embassy's website, the conference was attended by representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, Turkmen students studying at universities in Tajikistan, and the academic and teaching community.

Participants were presented with detailed information on the activities of the Halk Maslahaty, its place in the country’s socio-political system, and its pivotal role in shaping the strategic directions of state development.

It was emphasized that the initiative put forward by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to declare 2028 the Year of International Law serves to further enhance the authority of international law in contemporary interstate relations, ensure steadfast adherence to the principles of the UN Charter, and foster peaceful, constructive, and equitable dialogue among nations.

Following the official part of the conference, a short concert was organized for the participants, featuring Turkmen folk melodies performed by bagshy.
