On 31 July 2026, during an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia Mr. Muhammetnyyaz Mashalov met with Ms. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General for South Asia, the Middle East and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The parties discussed strengthening bilateral political and diplomatic relations, organizing high-level visits, holding political consultations, and expanding cooperation in trade, transport and logistics, investment, culture, education and tourism. They also reaffirmed cooperation within the United Nations and other international organizations.

The Thai side expressed its readiness to discuss arrangements for a future visit of His Majesty the King of Thailand to Turkmenistan.
