The Embassy of Uzbekistan will launch online visa registration from August 1

Starting August 1, the Uzbek Embassy in Turkmenistan will launch a test version of an online visa application system. This was announced by Uzbek Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov at a briefing on tourism development on July 23.

According to him, the new system will allow applicants to schedule an appointment online and arrive at their appointed time, without spending hours in a live queue. Along with online scheduling, the traditional document submission process will remain in place—the embassy is not abandoning it, but rather adding a new format for those who want to save time.

As the ambassador noted, the system is designed to streamline the reception of applicants, especially in high-volume environments. Applicants will be able to know in advance what day and time they need to appear, instead of having to wait indefinitely in line.

At the same time, Alimov admitted that the mechanism may not work immediately and will require debugging: at first, organizational difficulties are possible, and applicants’ questions will be clarified as the system operates. Nevertheless, the embassy expects that the innovation will minimize the waiting time when accepting documents.
