Turkmenistan and the UN discussed the development of preventive diplomacy in the region

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Kakha Imnadze, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia. The Foreign Ministry's press service reported this.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of the center as a platform for developing preventive diplomacy, strengthening regional security, trust, and mutual understanding between the states of Central Asia. Particular attention was paid to improving regional cooperation, promoting a culture of peace and dialogue, and jointly implementing initiatives to ensure peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed preparations for upcoming joint events and collaboration within the framework of regional programs and projects under the auspices of the UN.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
