School students from Turkmenistan performed successfully at the mathematics Olympiad in Baku

Turkmen schoolchildren performed admirably at the Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) 2026 in Baku, winning one bronze medal and three Honorable Mention awards. This was reported by "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

Ayhan Orazdurdyyev, a fourth-grade student at the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian Secondary School, won the bronze medal, scoring 80 points among 56 participants in his age category.

Alymuhammet Orazov, a school student from Ashgabat, and Ayjeren Muhammetnazarova and Gulshat Muhammetnazarova, students from the city of Mary, were awarded Honorable Mentions.

The international Olympiad featured complex and unconventional problems that required not only deep mathematical knowledge but also advanced logical thinking, attentiveness, and the ability to quickly find correct solutions.

A major competition brought together schoolchildren from 13 countries. Participants hailed from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, the Philippines, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan.
