During a government meeting on July 3, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved a proposal to establish new, modern production facilities at the "Balkanabat" iodine plant, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Currently, with the aim of diversifying the country's chemical industry through the rational and efficient use of local raw material resources, new enterprises based on innovative technologies are being commissioned, and modern production facilities are being established. In this process, particular importance is attached to cooperation with foreign companies.

The Head of State emphasized the ongoing efforts to develop the chemical industry and establish export-oriented structures, and issued a number of instructions to Deputy Prime Minister B. Annamammedov in this regard.
