The CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan facilitates specialist training in collaboration with the Kazakh-German University

The project office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in Turkmenistan continues to develop cooperation with the Kazakh-German University (DKU, Almaty, Kazakhstan) in training specialists in the fields of integrated water resources management, environmental protection, climate change, and sustainable development.

Within the framework of the partnership, Nurberdy Atayev and Menli Atayeva from Turkmenistan enrolled in the DKU Faculty of Integrated Water Resources Management in 2024. Upon completion of their studies, they successfully defended their master's theses and were awarded a master's degree.

For the third consecutive year, the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan has been providing information, advisory, and organizational support to Turkmen candidates applying for the Master’s program at DKU. This initiative aims to expand academic mobility for young people and train specialists in the fields of ecology and sustainable natural resource management.

Mergen Kepbanov, Director of the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan, noted that human capital development is a vital investment in a sustainable future and expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills acquired by the graduates would contribute to the sustainable development of Turkmenistan and the region.

The CAREC Project Office expressed its gratitude to the leadership and faculty of DKU for their cooperation and noted its intention to expand collaboration with educational institutions in the region to train professionals for the sustainable development of Central Asia.
