An accessory described by auction organizers as the world's first bag made from a material derived from Tyrannosaurus rex skin is being auctioned in Paris. The starting price is between 300 thousand and 500 thousand euros, reports vc.ru.

To create the product, scientists extracted proteins from T. rex fossils, used artificial intelligence to restore the collagen structure, and then grew a biomaterial with properties reminiscent of dinosaur skin.

At the same time, a number of experts have criticized the project, pointing out that this is not the genuine skin of an ancient animal, but a laboratory biomaterial, merely inspired by its supposed characteristics.
