Belet now airs the BBC miniseries “Dear England”, a biographical drama about Gareth Southgate

The British miniseries "Dear England" has appeared on the Turkmen streaming platform Belet. Three of the four episodes are currently available.

The series is based on the play of the same name by playwright James Graham and airs on BBC One. The world premiere took place on May 24, 2026. Left Bank Pictures is producing.

Joseph Fiennes plays the lead role of England manager Gareth Southgate. The cast also includes Jodie Whittaker, Jason Watkins, John Hodgkinson, and others.

The first episode was directed by Rupert Goold, who previously directed the original play. Episodes two through four were directed by Paul Whittington.

The plot is a fictional reconstruction of the England team's victories and defeats during Southgate's tenure as manager from 2016 to 2024, based on extensive research and interviews.

The story sees Southgate take over a team with the world's worst penalty record and attempt to reverse decades of painful defeats for the country that gave the world football.

The play on which the series is based won the Olivier Award for Best New Play in 2024. International distribution rights are held by Sony Pictures Television.

Joseph Fiennes, who played Southgate in the stage version, received an Olivier Award nomination for his role. He reprised his role for the screen version.

Several actors—Adam Hugill, Josh Barrow, and Lewis Sheppard—reprise their stage roles, playing Harry Maguire, Jordan Pickford, and Dele Alli, respectively.

Jodie Whittaker, known for her role as the Doctor in Doctor Who, plays Pippa Grange, the England team's psychologist, who played a key role in the team's work on the players' mental health.
