Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry's press service.
During the talks, the parties noted the active and productive nature of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. They emphasized that contacts at the highest and most senior levels remain a key factor in the development of bilateral ties.
Turkmen-American partnership in education, science, culture, and the digitalization of key economic sectors featured prominently in the discussion. It was noted that, as part of the agreements reached, Turkmenistan participates in more than 15 US educational programs, and that sustainable cooperation has been established between specialized universities in the two countries.
The diplomats discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. The Ambassadors' Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) program's successful 25-year operation in Turkmenistan was particularly noted.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in the media, public relations, and public diplomacy, including the development of professional contacts, exchange of experience, and the implementation of joint initiatives.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing relations both bilaterally and within the framework of the “C5+1” platform.
