Days of Azerbaijani Culture officially opened in Ashgabat

On June 5, the Days of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan officially opened at the Palace of Mukams in Ashgabat.

The extensive concert program included performances by artists from both countries, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The audience greeted with thunderous applause the performances of the Azerbaijan State Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after Fikret Amirov, the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev, the naghara players (drummers) ensemble of the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble, as well as renowned performers and creative groups.

Popular Turkmen dance groups joined the Azerbaijani artists.

A special flavor was added to the festive program by the joint performance of the ancient dance "kushtdepti" by the dance ensemble "Galkynysh" and an Azerbaijani soloist.

Within the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture, the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy the Great Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan held a grand opening ceremony for the exhibition "Pearl of the National Heritage of Azerbaijan."

The exhibition features piled and lint-free carpets and fabrics (from the XIX century to the present day), as well as jewelry, embroidery, headdresses, and examples of national ornaments from the collection of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.

During the first day of this cultural event, a screening of Azerbaijani feature films was also held at the Ashgabat cinema in the capital.
