A meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. The venue was the “Garagum” hotel.
As reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the delegation of Turkmenistan, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov.
The meeting, held first in a restricted format and then in an expanded format, featured a constructive exchange of views on priority issues of interstate cooperation. The Turkmen side focused on developing trade and economic partnerships, expanding transport connectivity, digital transformation of industries, and the development of industrial cooperation mechanisms.
The need for coordinated approaches to sustainable partnerships based on pragmatism, mutual benefit, and a long-term strategic vision was particularly emphasized. Turkmenistan identified transport, logistics, and digital solutions in trade as priority areas.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including a decision to declare Minsk in 2027 and Karaganda in 2028 the CIS Youth Capitals. The Turkmen side expressed support for this initiative, emphasizing the importance of humanitarian and youth cooperation in strengthening friendship between the peoples of the Commonwealth.
