Arkadag footballers defeated Shagadam 3-2 in the fourth round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship. The match was the defending champions' first at their home stadium in Arkadag this season.
Didar Durdyev scored twice for the winners (in the 4th and 38th minutes), while Shamammet Hydyrov added another goal (in the 75th). For Shagadam, Serdar Gulyyev scored both goals (in the 45th and 61st minutes, the second from the penalty spot).
With this victory, Arkadag earned 12 points and took sole possession of the top spot in the Premier League standings. Shagadam, with 9 points, is in second place, while Altyn Asyr (6 points), with a game in hand, rounds out the top three.
Vladimir Bayramov's men previously played two home matches at Ashgabat Stadium in the capital, defeating Merv 7-1 and beating Ahal 1-0.
In the other matches of the fourth round, which will take place on April 22, Kopetdag will play Nebitchi, Merv will host Ashgabat, and Ahal will face Altyn Asyr.
