Plastic utensils and packaging have taken root in the everyday life of a modern person. Every day using PET bottles, plastic bags and containers, people make mistakes in handling plastic.

Mistake № 1 - reusing plastic utensils in relation to food.

The safety of plastic tableware for human health depends on compliance with storage conditions, shelf life and use of plastic for its intended purpose.

Polymers tend to age. As a result of repeated use, microcracks appear on the surface, in which bacteria can accumulate.

Mistake №2 - ignoring the label. In the production of plastic containers and packaging, several types of different polymers are used. The plastic is marked with a label that can tell about safety.

PET (“unit”) is one of the healthiest polymeric materials. It is used to make bottles for drinks, water, milk, disposable tableware, etc. The shelf life of containers marked PET (“unit”) is one year.

Also, on plastic dishes intended for food, an icon should be applied - a glass and a fork.

Mistake №3 - reheat food in a plastic bag in the microwave. You can heat up lunch in microwave ovens in a container with the “Microwave oven” sign.

Containers not marked with this sign should be kept away from heat sources. Since when heated, toxic to the human body can be released - formaldehydes, hexane and benzene.

Mistake №4 - storing bread and vegetables in plastic bags. Products are best stored in a wooden or metal container, in a thick paper bag, in a glass container or in a plastic box designed for this purpose.

Mistake № 5 - freezing food is that the first one comes to hand. Both for heating and freezing it is necessary to use the correct packaging. For freezing, packaging made of polystyrene (“six”) or with a “snowflake” icon is suitable.

Mistake № 6 - to store products in vacuum packaging after opening it. In polymer packaging under vacuum, products are stored longer and retain freshness. But after opening, various microorganisms (mold, yeast) begin to multiply under the action of oxygen. Therefore, you should transfer the products to another container, such as glass or porcelain.

In Turkmenistan, one of the leaders in the production of plastic products are Algap and Begler ýoly.

The growth in demand for the products of companies is increasing due to modern production equipment, a wide range of products, and the availability of international certificates confirming quality and safety.
