Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Edmondo Cirielli, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the diplomats noted the importance of bilateral political dialogue. They discussed the prospects for developing relations between Turkmenistan and Italy in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
It was noted that contacts at the highest and high levels play an important role in promoting bilateral ties.
The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation within international organizations and in the Central Asia-Italy format. They emphasized the positive experience of cooperation on the UN sidelines. The importance of mutual support for international initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and sustainable development was noted.
The parties expressed confidence in continuing a fruitful partnership in all areas of mutual interest.
