Sotheby's auction house has made a sensational sale of a work of art by Italian author Maurizio Cattelan called "The Comedian". A banana, attached with tape to a wall, was sold for an unprecedented sum of 6,2 million dollars, significantly exceeding the starting price, RIA Novosti reports.
Previously, similar copies of the work were sold for only 120 thousand in 2019, making the current deal especially impressive. The new owner of the unusual art object is Justin Sun, who has publicly announced his intention to eat a banana in the coming days.
