In the UK, a man received symbolic compensation for a Mars bar without the traditional embossed pattern. The cost of compensation was only 2 pounds sterling, daily.afisha.ru reports with reference to The Guardian.

The hero of the story, 34-year-old Harry Seeger from the city of Aylesbury, bought an unusual chocolate bar at a service station in Oxfordshire. Noticing the absence of the characteristic ribbing on the chocolate bar, Seeger decided to contact the manufacturer.

The Mars Wrigley UK company did not go into details of the technical defect, but immediately offered monetary compensation. Seeger himself was more interested in the reasons for the origin of the defective product than in the financial reward.

The company’s representatives later explained the incident by the fact that the bar “slipped” along the production line. They also assured consumers that the signature ribbing remains an integral part of the design of their products.
