Six young chess players from Ashgabat, Mary, Dashoguz and Lebap velayats will represent Turkmenistan at the World Cadet Championship starting today in the Italian city of Montesilvano, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The prestigious tournament brought together 716 schoolchildren from 80 countries, who will compete for medals in three age categories – U8, U10 and U12 – in 11 rounds according to the Swiss system.
In the youngest of them – under 8 years old – Turkmenistan will be represented by Charyhekim Charyev from Ashgabat and Aylar Hemrayeva from Mary, in the middle – under 10 years old – by Omarbek Ismailov from Shabat etrap of Dashoguz velayat and bronze medalist of the 2024 World Blitz Championship under 10 years old in Albania Aya Bayramova from Turkmenabat, and in the older – under 12 years old – by Rauf Yusupov from Mary and Nebahat Muradova from Turkmenabat.
The Turkmen chess players were trained for the world championship by Gurbangeldi Amangeldyev, Ashir Ashirov (both from Ashgabat) and Khairulla Haytbayev from Dashoguz.
The World Chess Championship among cadets will end on November 26.
