The friendship between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Armenia has centuries-old roots and continues to develop today, said Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (ESCS) of the Republic of Armenia Daniel Danielyan in his speech on the occasion of the opening of the Days of Armenian Culture in Ashgabat.
“It is a great honor for us to present Armenian culture in Ashgabat. I would like to emphasize that mutual holding of cultural days has become a good tradition that brings us, our friendly peoples, even closer together”, - he added.
During his speech, Danielyan also recalled the participation of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan in the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly. The Deputy Minister expressed special gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the installation of a monument to the Armenian poet Sayat-Nova in the “Magtymguly Fragi” cultural and park complex.
According to the Deputy Minister of the Armenian SCS, an important stage in the development of cultural relations was the signing of a cooperation program between the governments of the two countries in the field of culture and art for 2023-2025. The document was signed in June 2023 within the framework of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Armenia.
In addition, Danielyan emphasized that artists from both countries actively interact at various festival and competition venues in both countries.
“I am confident that our cultural cooperation will continue with new dynamics, contributing to the further development and deepening of the cultural partnership between our two peoples, the prosperity and well-being of Armenia and Turkmenistan”, - Danielyan noted.
