The 300th anniversary of the birth of the great philosopher and poet of the East, Magtymguly Fragi, was celebrated at Kent State University in Ohio, USA. The event was attended by a delegation from Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev, who is in the United States on a working visit to establish long-term cooperation with prestigious American universities, as well as US citizens, Turkmen students and Turkmen living in the country.
The grand opening of the festive event took place with speeches by the Vice President for Global Education at Kent State University Marcello Fantoni. Within the framework of the celebration, teachers and students of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction performed musical and folklore numbers, and Maya Tyuliyeva, founder and CEO of the “Kansas City” Music Academy in the United States, performed works on the piano. Also speaking were the Executive Director of the “Bob and Walt Vick” Poetry Center in the United States David Hassler and the teacher-magumgulived Durdy Ilmammedov.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States Meret Orazov, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev and other participants spoke in detail about the life and work of the great thinker and classical poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi, as well as the deep meaning of his philosophical poems.
This event was organized within the framework of a working visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev to the United States with the aim of establishing long-term cooperation with prestigious American universities. The visit is being held in accordance with the task of “studying the possibility of opening branches of prestigious foreign universities, including on the basis of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan”, defined in the “Strategy for International Cooperation of the Youth of Turkmenistan for 2023-2030”.
