Speaking at the “Central Asia-Germany” summit in Astana, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov called on the international community to help transform Afghanistan into a peaceful country and a valuable economic partner. The head of state emphasized the importance of supporting the Afghan people in their quest for stability and reconstruction after a long period of conflict. This is stated in the message of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that today Afghanistan has a real chance to overcome many years of difficulties and move on to creative work to restore state institutions, the economy and the social sphere. In his opinion, the international community should be realistic and far-sighted, focusing on the main goal of helping Afghanistan become a stable, peaceful and equal member of the world community.
The President of Turkmenistan called on the countries of Central Asia and Germany to join forces to solve these problems, using international and regional platforms, as well as increasing diplomatic interaction. Particular attention, he said, should be paid to the implementation of large infrastructure and economic projects with the participation of Afghanistan and attracting serious external investment.
