Today, Astana is hosting the second meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, is taking part in this important international event, demonstrating Turkmenistan's commitment to constructive international dialogue. This is stated in the report of State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The “Central Asia-Germany” “5+1” Summit is a continuation of the first meeting held in Berlin in September 2023. The current meeting will discuss a wide range of current issues, including prospects for a strategic partnership between the Central Asian countries and Germany.
Before the main session, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a number of bilateral meetings, including with the head of the German government and heads of major German companies. This underlines the importance of economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany, which is one of the country's main economic partners in Europe.
The summit is also attended by the heads of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The meeting is chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
