Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with representatives of German business circles on the sidelines of the second meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Astana.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in a number of key sectors of the economy, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Michael Kellner expressed the interest of German business in deepening partnership with Turkmenistan. He noted that this is due to both the positive experience of previous interaction and the favorable investment climate in the country.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in turn, emphasized the growing interest in Turkmenistan from foreign partners. Renewable energy, transport and communications, chemical and textile industries, agriculture, as well as the transition to a “green economy” and the introduction of innovative technologies were identified as priority areas for further development of cooperation.
The meeting demonstrated the desire of both sides to strengthen economic ties and implement joint projects in various sectors of the economy.
