Young boxers from Turkmenistan won two bronze medals at the Asian Championship

At the Asian Junior and Schoolboy Boxing Championships that ended in Al Ain (UAE), Turkmen athletes won two bronze medals. Success was achieved by 16 years old Begench Kakamyradov in the weight category up to 50 kg and Sapargeldi Nuryagdyev in the welterweight category up to 70 kg, the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.

The competition was attended by 462 boxers from 26 countries. They competed for medals in 13 weight categories among juniors born in 2008-2009 and in 15 weight categories among schoolchildren born in 2010-2011. The Turkmenistan team was represented by 10 athletes: two in the junior age group and eight in the senior.

Begench Kakamyradov won two victories in his weight category, but lost in the semi-finals to Indian boxer Harsh Harsh with a score of 1:4. Sapargeldi Nuryagdyev also successfully passed two rounds of the competition, but in the semi-finals he lost to Uzbek athlete Diyorbek Murodilloev with a score of 0:5.

The Turkmen team was prepared for the Asian Championship by coaches Sapardurdy Bagyev and Myrat Pazzyev.
