The Turkmenistan national karate team completed its performance at the 22nd Asian Championship among cadets and juniors under 21 in Manila, winning three bronze medals in various weight categories, according to a report by the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The first bronze medal for the team was brought by Alymuhammet Kakalyev, who competed in kumite among cadets in the weight category up to 57 kg. Two more bronze medals were won by Magtymguly Annayev and Davut Nazmyradov in the age category up to 21 years. Annayev distinguished himself in the weight category up to 55 kg, and Nazmyradov – in the category up to 75 kg.
The championship, organized by the Asian Karate Federation WKF, brought together 561 athletes from 30 countries. Turkmenistan was represented by a delegation of 10 athletes, 2 coaches and 3 international judges.
