The State Plant Quarantine Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan received EPPO diagnostic protocols for regulated pests and training equipment from the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10).

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, EPPO diagnostic protocols are required to provide diagnostic results when exporting plant products from Turkmenistan to Europe and the Mediterranean.

Training equipment includes an interactive screen, laptop, work computers, LCD monitors and web cameras for quality distance and on-site training and strengthening operational planning capabilities.

The equipment was purchased as part of Component 3 of the BOMCA 10 Program “Promoting legal trade flows across borders” and is designed to improve the work of the customs, phytosanitary and veterinary departments, the source notes.
