The song Baky diri esgerler (“Heroes of the Immortal Regiment”) by a family creative tandem from Turkmenistan received high praise at the David Krivitsky International Composer Competition. The author of the music is composer Ayna Shirova, the words to the song were written by the famous Turkmen poet and writer Hemra Shirov.
According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the song became the winner of a musical flash mob launched in April of this year and dedicated to Victory Day. Over the course of a month, the song was performed by musicians in different countries and was performed in Turkmen and Russian.
The David Krivitsky International Composer Competition brings together talented musicians from all over the world. Turkmenistan took part in it for the first time.
