At the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, a ceremony was held to hand over the Certificate of naming the star in the constellation Pegasus the name “Arkadag,” the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.
The university was also presented with a telescope and photographs of the celestial object.
As previously reported, scientists from the Space-Earth Society named the star “Arkadag” in honor of the first anniversary of the opening of the “smart” city of the same name and as a symbol of pride in it.
This was announced on June 29 at a gala conference dedicated to the city’s anniversary.
The decision to transfer the Certificate, telescope and photographs to TSU named after. Magtymguly was adopted to familiarize the public with information about the star.
