From July 5 to 12, the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship among youth teams under 20 years old will be held at the Kurmanbek stadium in the city of Jalal-Abad (Kyrgyzstan). The teams of Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will play in the tournament.
According to the CAFA press service, the video assistant referee (VAR) system will be used at the tournament. “The Kyrgyz Football Union is completing the preparation of technical equipment for the use of VAR at the upcoming CAFA U-20 Championship.”
It Is worth noting that the participation of the Turkmenistan national team in this tournament is considered as preparation for the qualifying round of the 2025 Asian Cup among youth teams. The qualifying tournament will be held this year from September 21 to 29 in Bishkek.
