Festive events dedicated to the announcement of Ashgabat as the City of New Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were held today at the martial arts sports complex of the Olympic village of the Turkmen capital.
Within the framework of the celebration, under the motto “Ashgabat – a city of sports opportunities and achievements”, a festive concert and demonstration performances of athletes who won prizes at international competitions were organized.
The winners of international competitions wholeheartedly wished the country's leadership good health, happiness and success in large-scale activities for the benefit of the people and expressed sincere gratitude for their constant concern for the popularization of sports and a healthy lifestyle, creating conditions for practicing various sports.
At the main entrance of the martial arts sports complex there is an exhibition of the achievements of Turkmen athletes, the exposition of which includes awards of various denominations won at prestigious international competitions, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
