Diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan abroad organized and held sporting events in honor of World Bicycle Day. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports this.
Thus, on May 31, cultural and sports events were held in London dedicated to World Bicycle Day, as well as the 300th anniversary of the great thinker and poet of the East - Magtymguly Fragi, in which Embassy employees and Turkmen students studying in the UK took part.
On the same day, a similar action was held in Bucharest. The sporting event was organized in the King Michael I Park with the support of the local municipality and the “Green Revolution” Association. It was attended by heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Romania, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and students.
“World Bicycle Day 2024” was celebrated in Islamabad in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and Serena Hotels to promote healthy lifestyles and environmentally friendly modes of transport, the promotion of which directly contributes to the achievement of the relevant Sustainable Development Goals.
A bike ride was organized in the city of Riyadh together with the Cycling Federation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic mission and members of their families, leaders and representatives of the Cycling Federation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, athletes of the Kingdom's national cycling team, teenagers and children with disabilities.
Also, bike rides were held in the capitals of the UAE, Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, France, and India. Employees of the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan and members of their families, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and student youth took part in the mass races, the source notes.
