The XXIV meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs will be held in Ashgabat. The forum will be held on the occasion of the Turkmen carpet holiday, celebrated in the country on the last Sunday of May.
It is expected that the forum will be attended by famous carpet weavers, admirers of the art of Turkmen carpet weaving, scientists, specialists, and representatives of carpet weaving companies from around the world. Deputy Prime Minister B. Atdayev reported this at a government meeting, speaking about preparations for events dedicated to this holiday.
Also, on the occasion of the holiday, for great services in the development and improvement of the national art of carpet weaving, taking into account many years of conscientious and dedicated work, professional skill, the carpet weavers of the country will be awarded the honorary title of Türkmenistanyň at gazanan halyçysy (“Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan”).
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to hold celebrations on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Festival, an exhibition of carpet products and a meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs at a high level, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
