PETRONAS Charigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd organized the first Job Fair this year, which attracted significant attention from across the country. The event, held at the Beyik Yupek Yoly Hotel in the port of Turkmenbashy, brought together about 1000 ambitious applicants.
The fair was solemnly opened by the Chief Executive Officer of PC(T)SB, Ismadi Bin Ismail, accompanied by the heads of the company’s departments, who warmly welcomed the motivated talents. Throughout the day, PCH(T)SB specialists made insightful presentations covering various aspects of the oil and gas industry, including the hiring process, PETRONAS' strategy to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050, health, safety and environmental principles, the importance of maintaining diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and shared experiences of career development in the company.
A significant moment was the participation of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, which emphasized the priority of creating new jobs and supporting initiatives for the development of labor resources from the state.
The job fair provided a unique platform to obtain first-hand information about promising vacancies in PCH(T)SB. Participants were able to complete English language testing and preliminary technical interviews, gaining invaluable skills for career advancement in the oil and gas sector.
In addition to traditional recruitment efforts, PC(T)SB has demonstrated its commitment to the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan by investing heavily in local workforce training.
Among the initiatives is the Technical Specialists Training Program at INSTEP (PETRONAS Institute of Oil and Gas Technologies), where 235 Turkmen specialists of various professions have successfully trained. Also, 162 local talents received grants to study at the PETRONAS Technological University, many of whom are now working for the company.
PC(T)SB's efforts highlight its commitment to becoming a reliable partner and attractive employer in Turkmenistan, contributing to the development of local communities and promoting sustainable growth through strong partnerships.
The success of the Job Fair was ensured by the continued support of the Government of Turkmenistan, in particular the State Concern "Turkmengas", whose assistance played an important role in promoting local talent development programs.
