The student team of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture will take part in the program of the III International Festival of Puppet Theaters “Crossroads”, which will be held in Novosibirsk from June 7 to 12.
Turkmen students will present the play “Eternal Legends”, staged by a teacher at the Department of Acting and Stage Speech at the Institute of Culture, director Ilyas Durdyev.
The performance is based on stories from the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The main participants of the festival were announced yesterday at a press conference, which took place at the TASS press center in Novosibirsk. Theater groups from Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will show their performances. For the first time, theaters from China and Iran will bring their productions to Novosibirsk.
The festival's performances will be shown on the stage of the Novosibirsk Regional Puppet Theater and its Summer Theater, in the Chamber Hall of the Philharmonic, the Novosibirsk Drama Theater and on the stage of the House of Culture of the October Revolution.
During the theater forum, master classes, exhibitions, and creative meetings will also take place. The festival will be adapted for people with hearing impairments: performances will be shown with subtitling and sign language interpretation.
