1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the composition of the Organizing Committee for preparations for state events on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan by signing the corresponding Resolution. The document prescribes: “the relevant ministries, line departments, hyakimliks of the velayats, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag should ensure that celebrations and events on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan are held at a high organizational level”.

2. Turkmenistan is preparing to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. On the occasion of this significant date, war veterans will be presented with valuable gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

3. Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, informed about the work to bring the national legislative framework. In particular, working commissions are preparing bills regulating civil law relations, protection, study and popularization of the creative heritage of Magtymguly Fragi.

4. During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on measures to expand the range of digital banking services and increase the share of non-cash payments. In this regard, he presented a proposal from the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Rysgal” to launch the “Internet Bank” and “Mobile Bank” systems. These systems will permit bank clients to gain remote access to their accounts and carry out various operations via the Internet and mobile devices.

5. The 38th meeting of the Conference of Managers and Responsible Representatives of OSJD Railway Enterprises, which was held from April 15 to 19, ended in Ashgabat. The representative forum brought together heads and specialists of railway administrations from more than 20 countries. Over the course of five days, participants discussed the results of the activities of the OSJD Commissions on freight and passenger transportation, infrastructure, rolling stock, coding and computer science. The Organization’s work plans for the future and the results of the activities of the Permanent Working Groups on financial and settlement issues were also approved. During the meeting, bilateral meetings were held, a number of agreements and a Protocol were signed, aimed at strengthening effective cooperation between the parties. As a result of the work, the Ashgabat Declaration was adopted, aimed at strengthening a fruitful partnership and trusting relations with the OSJD member countries in the region.

7. After several years of painstaking work, paleontologists from Britain made an amazing discovery - they recreated a giant sea lizard that lived 200 million years ago during the time of dinosaurs. The discovery was made off the coast of Somerset, where fragments of a huge jaw bone were recovered from the depths of the sea. Analysis of the bone remains showed that this was a previously unstudied species of ichthyosaur. This monster reached 25 meters in length. Although some species existed for millions of years, the ancestors of the found giant went extinct about 90 million years ago.

8. The main trophy of the international hockey tournament in Ashgabat will be played in the finals between “Galkan” and “ORKHIS-Kazan”. And in the match for 3rd place “Feniks” and “Volat” will meet. This was determined based on the results of the final matches in groups “A” and “B”. The final and the match for 3rd place will take place on April 20 at the large ice arena of the Winter Sports Complex.

9. The Turkmenistan women's football team arrived in Dushanbe, where the CAFA championship among girls under 18 will be held from April 19 to 28. Five national teams from Central Asian countries will take part in the prestigious tournament: Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The competition will be held in a round-robin format, where each team will play against the rest of the participants. The champion will be determined based on the points scored.

10. The Turkmenistan futsal team arrived in Minsk to participate in a friendly tournament dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism. The team has already settled at the base and conducted its first training sessions. On April 20 and 22, the Turkmen team will play against Belarus, and on April 23, against the bronze medalist of the national championship, “Minsk”.
