1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian. The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the Iranian leadership to the head of Turkmenistan, emphasizing that Tehran attaches great importance to strengthening the traditionally fruitful dialogue with Turkmenistan. The head of Turkmenistan called Iran one of the country’s most important trade and economic partners, especially noting the role of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

2. The national air carrier of Turkmenistan has announced an increase in the number of regular passenger flights on the Ashgabat-Delhi route in the new summer schedule of 2024. According to published data on the airline's official website, the number of weekly flights to the Indian capital will increase from two to three.

3. The International Media Forum “Turkmen Land – the Center of Ancient Civilizations” was held in Ashgabat. The event was timed to coincide with the announcement of the city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024 and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi. The forum brought together leaders and representatives of the media and international organizations from many countries. Speakers noted the growing international presence of Turkmenistan. The forum became a significant step in the development of humanitarian cooperation and the country’s integration into the global information space.

4. In Ashgabat, a meeting was held between Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. The head of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan welcomed the Iranian minister to the hospitable Turkmen soil and conveyed his best wishes to the leadership of Iran, noting the common historical and cultural roots of the two peoples. The interlocutors discussed the parties' intention to strengthen effective cooperation in such sectors as the fuel and energy complex, transport and communications, construction, and agriculture. Particular attention is planned to be paid to intensifying trade and economic ties, holding exhibitions and business forums.

5. At the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, a meeting was held between Professor of the Faculty of International Relations and Cooperation of the Canadian Graduate Business School of Montreal, Dr. Javad Mottaghi, and students studying journalism. The professor shared with future journalists his opinion on the importance of the media in the modern world.

6. A six-month-old puppy named Fu Zai made his debut with the Chinese police, becoming the first corgi to hold the position. Despite his short legs, the young employee showed excellent results during training. Fu Zai began his service on the opening day of the police camp in Weifang City. He proved that not only dogs with long legs can work successfully in law enforcement. The puppy worked hard with his fellow dogs, learning obedience, bomb detection and various sniffing techniques. After completing the full course of training, the Corgi will be officially assigned and will perform specific tasks.

7. The eighth largest lottery prize in the history of the country was won in the United States. A 1,13 billion USD Mega Millions ticket was sold in New Jersey. The odds of matching all six numbers and hitting the jackpot in Mega Millions is 1 in 302,6 million. However, after deducting federal income taxes, the amount of winnings will be significantly reduced, and could be about 540 million USD.

8. Football players of the new “smart” city “Arkadag” will play on their field against “Ahal” from the city of Anev in the match of the 4th round of the Turkmenistan football championship. The meeting will be held on March 30 at the “Arkadag” stadium. The match between “Arkadag” and “Ahal” will start at 17:00 local time. The match will be officiated by a team of referees led by Charymurad Kurbanov.

9. While on a visit to Ashgabat, President of the International Tennis Federation David Haggerty highly appreciated the potential of Turkmenistan and the prospects for the development of tennis in the country. Noting the high level of tennis infrastructure, the availability of courts, coaches and players, he stated the need to take the next step for further growth. “The Olympic village has fantastic conditions for tennis. I believe that on the basis of such excellent sports facilities it is possible not only to strengthen the position of tennis within the country, but also to hold international tournaments to popularize it on a global scale”, - Haggerty said in an interview with a Turkmenportal correspondent.
