Midfielder of the Turkmenistan national team Ruslan Mingazov joined the team after a successful performance in the Hong Kong championship. In the 12th round match, he scored a double and was recognized as the best player, helping his club “Kitchi” defeat “Sham Shui Po” with a score of 3:0.
Upon arrival at the team location, Mingazov gave his first comments:
“After a good game in Hong Kong, we will give our best in the games against Iran. Now we are completely focused on the requirements of the coaching staff and will try to show a high-quality game,” the press service of the national team quotes the footballer as saying.
The training camp of the Turkmen team in the UAE will last until March 19, after which the players will fly to Tehran for a match with the Iranian national team. On March 14, head coach Mergen Orazov’s team suffered a defeat in a friendly match against the Kazakhstan team with a score of 2:0.
After two rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, the Turkmenistan national team ranks third in Group E among four teams.
