On March 17 at 8:00 local time, voting began in five cities of Turkmenistan for the election of the President of the Russian Federation. Polling stations are open in the Department of Education, Science and Culture of the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat, in the cultural center of the Lebap velayat in the city of Turkmenabad, in the building of the city hyakimlik in Mary, in the building of the city hyakimlik in Dashoguz, as well as at the consular post of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenbashy.
As RIA Novosti reported, in a conversation with journalists at the polling point in the department of education, science and culture of the diplomatic mission in Ashgabat, the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin congratulated everyone on the election of the President of the Russian Federation. He noted that all polling stations on the territory of Turkmenistan opened on time, all are operating as usual.
“We express our deep gratitude to the local authorities who helped us organize these elections, in particular in the regions of the country, provided premises, everything there is also proceeding as usual, without any deviations from the norms. “Thank you very much to the authorities in the regions and the central authorities in Ashgabat,” said the Russian Ambassador.
According to the diplomat, as of 10:00 local time, more than 300 voters had already voted.
Voting in the Russian presidential elections will last in Turkmenistan until 20:00.
