A media forum “Turkmen land – the center of ancient civilizations” will be held in Ashgabat on March 28 within the framework of the celebrations marking the announcement of the city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024 and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, writes the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Issues of preparation for this major event were discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday. Deputy Prime Minister M. Mammedova reported on the progress of preparatory work for the upcoming forum.
It is expected that it will be attended by representatives of the media of TURKSOY member countries and Turkmenistan’s partner states in the field of television, radio broadcasting and cinematography.
The media forum program includes four sections: “The unity of Turkic culture and its role in the media”, “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”, “Digital Media and News”, and “Films, Animations and Film Festivals”.
Guests are scheduled for excursions to the historical monuments of Ashgabat and the city of Arkadag, their participation in an international conference on tourism and a meeting with students of Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of proper preparation for holding the high-level media forum “Turkmen Land - the Center of Ancient Civilizations”, addressing a number of specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister.
