Family holiday calendar: dates not to be missed

March 8 is not the only reason to please your loved ones. There are many other dates throughout the year dedicated to family, love and care. Grandparents, moms and dads, spouses and children - everyone has their special days.

January 26 is Spouses Day. A holiday that does not have official status, but is nevertheless important for many people. It is dedicated to married couples and serves as a reminder of the value of strong relationships, and also gives the opportunity to pay attention to your “other half”.

April 10 is Brothers and Sisters Day. They say that a brother or sister is not just a relative, but a friend, a gift from fate. The holiday provides a wonderful opportunity to remember those who share our lives with us and thank them for their love, support and understanding.

May 12, 2024 – Mother's Day. Every year on the second Sunday of May, the world celebrates one of the most touching and heartwarming holidays - Mother's Day. Its history goes back to the distant past, but today this holiday unites people of different cultures and continents, giving the opportunity to express boundless gratitude and love to the dearest people on Earth.

May 15 is International Day of Families. This holiday was established in 1993 by the UN General Assembly in order to draw public attention to family problems and raise awareness of the socio-economic and demographic processes affecting its situation.

June 1 is World Parents Day. The holiday, established by the UN in 2012, honors those who give us life, love and care - our parents. World Parents Day is the perfect opportunity to say thank you for everything they have done.

June 16, 2024 – Father's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world on the third Sunday in June.

In the United States, in 1909, a woman named Sonora Smart proposed the creation of Father's Day. She wanted to express her gratitude to her father, William Smart, who raised six children single-handedly after their mother died. Very quickly the holiday spread throughout the country. In 1966, Father's Day became a national holiday in the United States.

The symbol of Father's Day is the rose: red is worn if the father is alive, and white if he is no longer alive.

November 22 - Sons' Day is a great occasion to tell your sons about your feelings and spend time together.
