UNDP Turkmenistan has created and launched a specialized online training platform on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), offering a self-paced learning opportunity.

The platform was developed and launched within the framework of the project “Increasing national capacity in the field of psychosocial support for vulnerable young people and women at the community level as preventive measures”. The project is being implemented by UNDP jointly with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan and is funded by the UNDP-DPPA Joint Program for Building National Capacity for Conflict Prevention.

The first online course of its kind in Turkmenistan aims to help service providers, including social workers, educators, law enforcement officials, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as women and youth leaders, to provide psychosocial support.

MHPSS Training of Trainers (ToT) materials are available for download on the platform's main page in three languages (English, Turkmen and Russian). There is also a self-paced online course option and participants can receive certificates upon successful completion of all parts of the course.
Narine Sahakyan, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan noted:

“UNDP is committed to prioritizing mental health and psychosocial support within the framework of global prevention policies, striving to empower young people and build their resilience to global challenges. We believe this MHPSS training program will benefit helping professions by strengthening their capacity to provide vital mental health and psychosocial support services to young people and the most vulnerable”.

Courses are available on the UNDP website (bootcamp.com.tm).
