A new chess season begins for young Turkmen chess players. On January 29, national championships will start for children from 6 to 12 years old, as well as boys and girls from 13 to 18 years old.
“This most massive chess event of the year will gather up to 500 participants and capture the attention of more than 30 thousand fans and observers”, - says a press release from the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan.
The letter is also accompanied by a schedule of tournaments that will take place in the country in January-March 2024:
Ashgabat:
- From January 21 to 27 – Turkmenistan Championship among juniors under 20 years old;
- From January 28 to February 3 – the Turkmenistan Championship among cadets (children) under 8, 10 and 12 years old;
- From February 4 to 10 – the Turkmenistan Championship among boys and girls under 14, 16 and 18 years old;
- From February 18 to 26 – Turkmenistan Championship among men (First League);
- From March 3 to 17 – Turkmenistan Championship among men and women (Major League).
Dashoguz:
- From February 11 to 17 – Turkmenistan Women's Championship (First League).
Online blitz league:
- March 30 – final stage
